Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
![]()
Direct Access is built on the Microsoft .Net programming platform. What this means to you is that you need to have the .Net framework installed for Direct Access to work.
If the framework is not installed on your machine, Direct Access will automatically connect to Microsoft during the installation process and download and install the .NET 2.0 framework for you. If you prefer to install it manually, you can download it from Microsoft.
If you have any problems with this, please write a comment, or use the feedback to let us know.
Notes On the .Net Framework
.net Framework is an extension to the Windows XP operating system and integrated in Windows Vista. It allows us to use advanced development tools that Microsoft provide.
The download is large, but there is lots of software that you’ll be able to use it with in the future. (Microsoft is pushing it). Microsoft tells us that it’s safe. It won’t break your computer. It just adds to your operating system.
