Direct Access is without a doubt the most used program I have on my computer. No more searching through menus to find the program I want to launch. I just type a few keystrokes (ie; no = opens Notepad, xl = opens Excel, tb = opens Thunderbird ) opens whatever program I need. After finding DirectAccess a few months ago, I am still adding new entries to it almost every day. It is a “super universal AutoText” program that allows you to use abbreviations for any command in any program or site. Not only can you insert text of any length in any program but you can also use abbreviations ANYWHERE to start a program, go to a website, etc. the new ability to import saved text from MS Word is a great addition for those who already use that function, but the ability to insert abbreviations ANYWHERE increases the value tenfold. In fact, after typing “abbreviations” three times, I have just added “ab” to DirectAccess to save typing all of those letters! The newest version also records a count of keystrokes saved so you can smile (or gloat) every time you save keystrokes while others are still typing full entries! It rates an absolute 10 out of 10!
