Prevent unwanted interactions when launching applications
Direct Access allows you for typing abbreviations anywhere, even when there no text input.
If you are not careful, this could create some unwanted interactions with other application, sending them keystrokes that may have unexpected consequences.
We have created a simple macro, created with Macro Scheduler, called Focus Taskbar.
It's a simple application that you start and waits silently in the background for the pressure of WIN+C shortcut.
When you type it, Focus Taskbar simply focuses the taskbar so that you don't inadvertitely send keystrokes to the wrong application.
Usage:
NOTE: obviously the Focus taskbar is useful only when you need to type abbreviations to trigger Launch Application or Open Website commands when you don't want keystrokes to be sent to the currently active application.
You can download Focus Taskbar 2 from here

- Before start typing an abbreviation when there's no input focus, type WIN+C. This will focus the taskbar
- Type your abbreviations: characters will be sent to the taskbar
