Description

Insert text method

Defines how the text is sent to the destination application.

-Using the Clipboard: the text is sent sending the CTRL+V or SHIFT+INS shortcut simulating a clipboard paste
-Direct typing: text text is sent character by character sending simulated keystrokes to the destination application.
If you are experiencing problems (all the text is copied on the same line), uncheck the Send New Line as LF checkbox
-Always use clipboard if the text exceeds N characters: when active, Direct Access uses the clipboard when the text is longer than N characters. This will help improving the performance of text insertion considerably.
-Use Clipboard for multiline text: when active, Direct Access uses the clipboard to insert text that contains more than one lines (this results in a faster text insert than with direct typing method).
-Wait time between keystrokes: determines how much time Direct Access waits (in milliseconds) after each keystroke when sending text using direct typing. If you are experiencing issues of characters not properly sent  to the target application, increase the value. Values can go from 0 to 200ms

Legacy mode: if text is not copied correctly to the target application, you may try enabling the legacy mode. Remember that in legacy mode some special keys may not be interpreted correctly.

Restore clipboard contents after text has been sent: when enabled, Direct Access restores the previous contents of the clipboard after the text has been sent. This option can be disabled. You can set a delay after which the content is restored. This can be useful as sometimes certain applications (like Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word can take a long time processing the data coming from the clipboard).

NOTE: the Clipboard method may result in a quicker insertion, in particular if the text to insert is very long.

Rich text

Default font: choose the default font used in the Autotext and Send e-mail commands.

Adapt Autotext to case of abbreviation

When checked, Direct Access adapts the case of the Autotext to be inserted to the case of the abbreviation.

For example, if you have set up an Autotext thank you with abbreviation th, here are the different results you get according to the case of the abbreviation.

th expands to thank you

Th expands to Thank you

TH expands to THANK YOU
