To open the Options window Commands tab

1.From the main window Command menu, select Options.
The Options dialog opens.
2.Click the Commands tab.

 

Option

Description

Display command description OSD after execution

If checked, after executing a command, Direct Access displays an OSD on screen to give visual feedback that the command has actually been executed.

You can specify the color of the text.

Switch to active application if already running

If this option is checked, Direct Access when invoking a Launch Application command to execute an application, checks if the application is already loaded. If it is, it switches to it instead of launching a new instance.

Send Email

Options to composing emails (Send email commands)

 

Use "mailto:" to compose emails

When checked Direct Access uses the mailto: syntax to open your default mail application. Leave it unchecked if you are not experiencing problems. By default, Direct Access uses MAPI to connect to your mail application: this method is more reliable and allows for sending attachments.

 

Connect directly to Microsoft Outlook to send emails

If Microsoft Outlook is the default email, Direct Access connects to Outlook directly to compose emails. If the option is checked, you can prepare formatted emails that contain rich text and pictures.

Audio cues

Play sound when executing a command
Plays a sound to confirm the command execution.

 

Play sound when a confirmation is required
Plays a sound when Direct Access has detected an abbreviation and is waiting for a confirmation.

Quick Shortcuts

CTRL+SHIFT+W: create a new Autotext command to type the currently selected text.

CTRL+SHIFT+A: create a new Launch Application command to open the currently selected application

CTRL+SHIFT+E: opens the last executed command

 

The shortcuts are detected in any application. To disable them, click on the checkbox beside them.
