Linked groups

Previous  Next

With linked groups you can associate a group to a command pack dynamically. Direct Access stores a link to the command pack and populates the group with all the commands contained in the specified command pack.

The command pack can reside on a local or remote machine.
This can be used to share commands among different users in a network.

To create a linked group

1.Check that the Group properties are displayed (if not, select Group / Show Group Properties).
2.Select the Group that will be linked to the command pack.
3.Check the Link to external command pack checkbox.
4.Select the command pack to be linked.
5.Click on the Refresh button:
Direct Access loads the commands contained in the command pack.

If Direct Access cannot access to the linked command pack or the file is out of sync, it displays a warning icon.

NOTE: if the Clear existing commands option is checked, Direct Access will remove all the commands contained into the group before importing the command packs. Direct Access will show a warning before performing that operation. To prevent the warning to be displayed, press SHIFT while clicking the Refresh button.
